This lavender-pink-flowering bee balm has a bustling work ethic; it can be found industriously and energetically putting in work several weeks earlier than most other bee balms, undeterred by drought and heat. It produces spidery speckled flowers that contrast with deep maroon foliage. This plant positively hums with pollinator activity when in bloom from mid-May to late June. After the flowers are finished flowering, eye-catching seed heads remain on the plant through winter to accompany the burgundy-tinged fall foliage.
