A lacy, cheerfully bright green woodland fern that happily fills out those shady spots in a rock garden or under the shelter of a few trees. The delicate fronds of this fern go through a series of interesting and captivating stages, from the unfurling fiddleheads to the verdant summer fronds to the spore-producing season. In mild winters, some even remain green through the winter months.
