What makes the Lancaster 147 unique: Today, we’re pleased to feature this remarkable watch originally manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company — the Lancaster 147. The watch boasts a breathtaking dial with uniquely-stylized black numerals that look stunning against its cream-colored background. The dial also features gothic hands with a blue hour hand and bronze-colored minute hand. We matched the watch with our robust, scratch-resistant Machined Titanium case and equipped it with a copper crown. On the back of the watch, you can view this timepiece’s breathtaking 912-grade open-face movement with a reed regulator, pendant setting, and nickel finish. The watch also boasts impressive gold-plated gears and 17 screw-set jewels. To top it all off, we paired this one-of-a-kind watch with our Mojave leather watch strap, complementing its eye-catching, antique dial. The Hamilton Watch Company initially produced the Lancaster 147’s pocket watch in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1937 — the same year the Golden Gate Bridge opened. Joseph Strauss designed this iconic bridge in 1917, and it took him over ten years to receive approval for its construction. Architect Irving Morrow designed some of the most noteworthy elements of the Golden Gate Bridge, including the shape of its bridge towers and its Art Deco influence, and he also picked the International Orange color. Initially, the US Navy wanted the bridge to include black and yellow stripes to increase its visibility for ships.
